Erol Alkan’s extended rework of Night Works – Long Forgotten Boy is out now on Phantasy. Available on limited 12″ vinyl which you can grab from the Phantasy Webstore, Phonica, Rough Trade, Piccadilly Records & Juno

We had the pleasure of speaking to Erol Alkan, a musician who has enjoyed global success in both electronic and also indie music, having produced for the likes of ‘The Mystery Jets’ and ‘Late of The Pier’. He discusses his final marathon set, challenging audiences and producing for bands.

I tend not to focus on single moments. Or rather, I don’t ever want to sit back and think ‘that was amazing for me’. What usually makes it amazing for me is a combination of the crowd and the music. A big part of what I try to do is read people and read the room, there’s always those moments when you feel like you’ve really done something…

Phantasy was set up to release music which I liked, and also to get me the opportunity to be far more creative in every stage of releasing music, from the production, possible remixing, artwork, all the way to coming up with some fiction to create some type of interest around each release.
