Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - Azza1985 - 2009-04-29 11:23:34 hiddink is the key factor in these games, he has more guile and experience than guardiola. chelsea will go through as for tonight, united should get up, predictions anyone? Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - RichardEStuart - 2009-04-29 11:27:28 I have no doubt in my mind that if United are going to go through, it will be the hard way! we'll scrap for a 1-1 draw no doubt with Arsenal having scored in the first 10 minutes then we'll fluke one in in stoppage time only to go to arsenal then go down 2-0 is ten minutes but come back to win 3-2....oh hold on I'm thinking of Juventus in 1999. we'll however we do it I dont mind as long as we do it....I reckon it'll be much more fun than last nights game. Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - Osmo - 2009-04-29 11:29:41 1 - 0 United. Rooney I reckon. Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - Azza1985 - 2009-04-29 11:31:52 agreed richmanu. it really depends which united team comes out - i.e. the one that played the first leg v porto or the second. would LOVE to see tevez get a start tonight, imagine if he banged one in, the crowd would go beserk. Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - moreeditsplease! - 2009-04-29 11:32:47 I pray for 2-1 Arsenal. Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - theholyromanempire - 2009-04-29 11:41:33 Its a sad day, i know none of you Premiership highflyers care for real football anymore (yeah thats right) Southampton are officially relegated and we might not even have a buyer by next season, and to kick us while were down, -10 points next season. :( Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - RichardEStuart - 2009-04-29 11:43:45 moreeditsplease! Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - Nightbreaker - 2009-04-29 12:05:27 footballers get paid too much, I think it should be law that when ever there is a by definition 'repression/ credit crunch' all premiership footballers should have their pay cut directly in half to aid this problem until the problem is fixed. this is my only view on football, thank you Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - theholyromanempire - 2009-04-29 12:06:08 jonnydonmar Wrote:And they will probably sack mark wotte(or he will leave), who i thinks a fairly decent manager.theholyromanempire Wrote:Its a sad day, i know none of you Premiership highflyers care for real football anymore (yeah thats right)Yeah it's well out of order... It's not fair that the team has to suffer. 20 years ago they would have kept them, at least for another couple of years, and would be the team everyone's talking about at the moment (for the right reasons) Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - moreeditsplease! - 2009-04-29 12:13:33 Richmanu Wrote:True, i'm not praying that hard or in any particular direction. Ideally... the United bench will be hit by swine flu, and in a strange but believable turn of events, Ferguson has no option but to put himself as a starting centre back (Vidic was hit by swine flu too). About 15 minutes into the game Sir Alex is doing alright, until a long ball over the top catches him off-guard, Wallcot nips in on the left and squeezes a cross in the direction of Fabregas tearing down the middle. Ferdninand thinks he's got it covered, but Ferguson, mistaking Rio for a duck, kicks him to the floor.moreeditsplease! United are the Red Devils with a picture of satan with a pitchfork on our logo. Fabregas finishes beautifully to put Arsenal one up. Ferguson is so embarassed by his actions, and enraged by Rio's duck-like appearance, that his head actually becomes and beetroot and explodes. In the name of decency, the Ref ends the game, and lets Arsenal through to the final because of Ferguson's exploding antics. Maybe that will happen? Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - mr_numero - 2009-04-30 00:35:04 Now that we've got the irrelevant stuff out the way this week, I assume we're all gonna start talking about Sunday? Will Warnock send out a Palace team to actually try and beat Sheff Utd? I mean, it's a given Reading will beat Brum, no? Rooney I reckon.Well I got half right. Don't think anyone could predict O'Shea to score. Erol Alkan Official Football Thread - KIRBY - 2009-04-30 15:18:24 Obviously a terrible result for Arsenal. You'd expect United to score there. but: I have an inkling that Arsenal will still go through. Reminded me of the Chelsea game in 2007, where we were poor, Bellamy especially was atrocious, Chelsea won 1-0 but could have won by more had it not been for fantastic keeping by Reina, and ahead of the second leg nobody really gave us much of a chance. So, on that note, 1-0 Arsenal, or 3-1 Arsenal is my prediction ahead of the second leg. Chelsea to spawn a winner or early goal having employed the same shithouse tactics that they did at the Nou Camp, with Barca retaining 70% of the ball again with very little direction or penetration. Man Utd did the exact same thing last season against a weaker Barca side and people claim Man Utd play great attacking football.
