The bass is completely removed and the pad synths are gone! you can never get a perfect acapella on frequency removal unfortunatley, but i've already done a remix of this and once you have a remix built over it and eq'd etc, its hardly noticable. But until La Roux actually releases a true acapella this is the only thing we can do at the moment.

Also this acapella i made was not made using inverted waves either, as the so known kareoke effect, which is not possible on vocals recorded in mono as it cuts the centre channel. This was made with a long tedious task of frequency removal and noise reduction. And again is only successfull on certain tracks depending on how it was recorded, how the vocals are placed in the stereo mix, the more stereo the vocal the easier to isolate.

Nah, instrumentals are the track which has everything but the vocal, and the acapella is just the vocal with no instruments. :)
