just googled it
that's mental, we adopted the name having been subject to racist abuse by braindead spammers fans that came through a jewish area to get to the lane and presumed everyone in tottenham was jewish so we wore it as a badge of pride |

I think you're rather missing the point, Paolo. Like you said, Spurs fans adopted the word in an effort to counter anti-Semetic abuse directed at them.
That's not what the film is about. If you read the info on Kick it Out's page and watch the video (http://www.kickitout.org/1307.php ), it is clearly about fans of other teams using it against Tottenham. In blog comments too often I've seen (and cringed) fellow Arsenal fans use the word (often the idiotic excuse goes somewhere along the lines of "wot, they use it too!"). Idiocy like that, as well as other types of hate speech, be it homophobic or racist (watching a Blackburn - Arsenal game last year on TV I heard a Blackburn fan call Sagna a "black sh*t", and I'm sure no-one needs reminding of the abuse Sol got) needs to stop. |

Yeah just read apparently Baddiel started it due to the nature of Chelsea fan's use of the word. Every club has their idiot fans though, and stuff like fans hissing to symbolise gas chambers still goes on and needs to be cut out.
Apparently it is also aimed at Tottenham fans chanting it as they feel chanting it results in it been chanted back in a derogatory manner. In other news/rumours Guus Hiddink has been offered the sporting director role at Chelsea by Roman Abramovich, according to @goal_intl |

i'm not missing the point, over-reacting a bit maybe but i do understand, jewish spurs fans i know aren't over-enamoured with our use of the word but obviously it's about context and when you hear chelsea/wham fans hissing en masse i think a chorus of Y** Army is the perfect retort... it pi55es the racists right off
but yeah, we'll stop singing and chelsea fans will stop being racist |

did you even reading anything I wrote, or for that matter anything written on the Kick It Out site / said in the video?
its *main* focus isn't Spurs fans. |

yes, i read what you wrote and the independent article and the mail article, i know the focus isn't on spurs fans but the word y*d
the main focus may be clubs that use the word in a derogatory manner but obviously it's going to cause the most disruption to the club that has a load of songs (triumphant, unifying songs) with the word in i'd love to think this campaign will rid the game of racism but it'll just stop us calling ourselves y*ds and the vocal racist minority that exists in every club will remain sorry if i set out on the wrong foot, i read the mail article first |

but don't you think that Spurs fans using it (and like I said above, I completely understand why) gives racist opposition fans an easy excuse to continue with their use of it? the way I see it (with the caveat that it is from my armchair hundreds of miles away), many people have become desensitized to it.
I'd like to think that if Spurs fans stopped using the word (took the moral high ground), then the racist idiots who make the gas noises and sing the anti-Semetic songs would look even more stupid and would no longer be able to hide behind a convenient (if ill founded) excuse. (sorry for the tone in my previous post, was in a bad mood) |

yeah, i totally agree
i'm certainly desensitized to the word and that's where the confusion comes in for me, it's been totally disarmed at the lane in my eyes but elsewhere i can see it still carries weight and offends some people so i'll think twice before using it in future |

every team has a pocket of horrendous fans, i'm not gonna stand up for chav corner at the boleyn who come out with this sort of toss, but I want all forms of racism and homophobia out of the game and that won't happen until every fan stops, even those chanting it proudly (and there will be some amongst the spud faithful that chant it anti-semitically, I promise you).

Arsenal are the only team to go 1-0 up in the 98th minute and still draw.

The word 'legend' is used all too often in football to describe players or managers who aren't really deserving of this status. One man who undoubtedly is though is Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish...

anyone that hasn't seen this, check it out... Mourinho's tactics report against an upcoming team from when he was at chelsea.
http://www.bragafut.com/artigos/art18.pdf add to that his supposedly radical and extremely complex 250 training routines... ...a discussion of which can be found here so is he the best (or even the best of all time) - and how does he compare to guardiola? my mouth is already watering at the prospect of the champions league grudge match so much for getting west ham to the champions league in footy manager |

Interesting she talks about being "betrayed" when she was fucking another woman's husband.
There's a million rumours about who it is, I personally couldn't give the remotest flying fupp. What they get up to in their bedrooms is really none of my business. |
