Great game! I'd have expected better of arsenal allowing Torres such space, never really rated Senderos.

As a gooner I can accept that result safe in the knowledge that Liverpool fans will never see their side play football like we do. Whilst I admire the pool's spirit and determination theyre a fucking useless football side. Scousers should realise that gettting through cup ties after being completely outplayed is a useful ability but not a good habit. You should aspire to more than that. Torres and Gerrard are the only remotely entertaining players on the team.

On another note, gutted for Wenger. I usually cringe when he comes out with the excuses but if we had ANY luck with injuries/refereeing decisions we'd be on the verge of winning the league and in the CL semi final. 3 dodgy peno decisions in a row against the same team is taking the piss. Such is life.

It is a good habit if you actually want to win something.

Yeah true, it would be asking too much that they actually play some decent football on the way.

The Kings of Anti Football march on, can't wait for the semi final against Chelsea. What an advertisement for the game that'll be.

It's good that you're not bitter about it.

The reason your lot are out of the Champions League and out of the title race isn't because of one or two dodgy refereeing decisions; it's because Wenger didn't strengthen the squad in January. If he did that you'd no longer need to play dross like Senderos (who is rubbish). I admit that Arsenal play nice football but it's pretty pathetic watching their fans trying to claim that playing pretty football is more important to them than actually winning anything. Anyway, I don't think Liverpool are that boring to watch normally. They're certainly not as boring as Chelsea.

How could I not be bitter about it! The better team went out. The team that tried to play football went out. That's reason enough for bitterness from a neutral never mind an Arsenal fan. Add to that that the tie hinged on two shocking peno decisions and that we've had RVP and Flamini injured over the two legs and I reckon i've every right to be aggrieved.

Don't get me wrong, we're two or three players short of a proper squad and that's definitely Wengers fault but the fact of the matter is, with a bit more luck with injuries and reffing decisions we'd have coped. And on that point, there's not a sniff Liverpool would dealt with our bad luck as well as we have. I don't think playing Pennant and Voronin on a regular basis would cut it.

As for the pretty football argument, we haven't won anything since the Fa cup in 05, the pool have won the CL and the Fa Cup, Chelsea 2 league titles and an fa cup, but there's not a shred of doubt in my mind who'd i'd rather support. There's no club team in the world could've passed the ball like we did last night. Yeah i'd love us to win a trophy playing it (and we will...someday!), but i'd prefer to watch that week in week out than play Liverpool's route one shite.

The fact that youre arguing that Liverpool 'aren't as boring as Chelsea' sums it right up. What an achievement.

A man who one weeks declares a player should never be allowed to play the game again after a freak accident, the next claiming to miss a much worse tackle by Diaby deserves no sympathy. Add this to his constant moaning, 'Goodison has a better atmosphere than Anfield' etc, and I couldn't be happier to send him out. This so called 'controversial penalty' is just icing on the cake, and Adebayor changed his tune from parading in front of the Kop before the game and before half time to going straight down the tunnel as soon as the whistle went. Their end emptied as soon as the fourth went in too, didnt stick around to cheer off a time that outplayed us over two legs uh.

Think its going to be a blessing in disguise to have the first leg at Anfield against Chelsea. Get a 1-0 or even a 0-0 and with Torres, Gerrard and Babel in the team anything's possible. It'd be a bit much to expect us to win the tie at Anfield three times in a row. It's going to be chaos outside the ground again though, hope the authorities deal with it properly for once and North London's finest aren't involved in stewarding.

And that Babel. He's proper shit.

that derby was the most surreal derby in living memory, certainly ive ever been to. Never, not once, did we look like conceeding and the utter, passionless play of Everton with Pienaar and Hibbert looking out of their depth and Carsley charging around. That the atmosphere for that game was so much duller than normal just shows the esteem Everton are held in now. Shame because its one of the final derbys before you fuck off to Kirkby. I don't know if you go to the game much, but for the Budapest game, what was the biggest night of your club in the last 25 years, you were having to practically give away tickets on Radio City. And finally, did you go to the Fiorinteena game? Atmosphere? What?

Erm...
Wenger retracted his statement about Taylor never playing again a few hours afterwards. Admitting he was frustrated and emotional after seeing one of his players have a leg broken and losing a game to a very dubious penalty.
He also very clearly said that he had no complaints about Diaby's sending off as it was a high tackle even though he didn't feel he intended to hurt the player.
His statement about Goodison was actually referring to the hostile nature of the atmosphere not necessarily a better atmosphere..

probably a good idea to get your facts straight before slagging someone off.

If I remember correctly, Mouriniho posted an apology also after accusing Anders Frisk of basically taking bribes, or at least colluding with, Frank Rjkard when it was proved he was a blatant liar. Given that Wengers comments could easily have resulted in Taylor being forced out of the game as Frisk was, through death threats and such as much as FA action, when the challenge was innocuous at worst, is retracting a statement good enough?

And to compare, Wenger described Diaby's tackle, which was FAR worse, as being

How can you start a post saying "if I remember correctly...'
when it's obvious that you don't remember anything he's said correctly?

You accuse him of not seeing things, but then you're doing exactly the same.. making up what you want to hear rather than listening to what he actually said.

And what's this about Arsenal finishing behind you being 'conveniently forgotten'?? By who?? Has he ever denied it?? Is it a big conspiracy?? or are you imagining that as well?

and if you really think the Diaby tackle was FAR worse than the Taylor one.. well there's not a lot of point arguing with you..

Have fun in Moscow

Typical Liverpool argument, 'we're making progress'. Who gives a shite if you finish third or finish fourth? Neither is good enough. You've never even challenged for the premiership and still look a long way off. Of course i'm sure next year will be 'your year'. To think you added a player as good as Torres and you still can't compete.

Doesn't really matter if yous don't win the CL this year, i'm sure you'll get another 10/15 years living off the last one...

I went to the fiorinteena game. The atmoshere was one of the best atmospheres that i have ever witnessed, I also saw Everton beat liverpool 3-0.

In regards to the fucking off to kirby comment, well at least we will ahve a new stadium that isnt just an artist's impression.

Wot, worse than Paul Butler or that South American that you's bought but turned out to be a different player to the one that the scouts had been watching video's of, but had the same name!
Seriously, you couldn't write that shit!

God preserve Sunderland and their stoopidity!
