That's a fucking joke mate. In 15 years time people will still be listening to "Destroy Rock and Roll" and will be infinitely spinning classics like "Drop the Pressure" "Otto's Journey" and "In My Arms." Grum and Alex Metric have come no where close to crafting a tune of similar quality.

I dunno....when that album came out I worked in a crappy clothes shop (think Primark but less classy) and his stuff was never off the instore system....alongside Ronan Keating, Atomic Kitten and the like, so I guess he is (or at least was) pretty huge.

Dunno about that like. To me, I enjoyed 'In My Arms' at the time because I'd always rated the hook that he ripped off Betty Davis Eyes. And then I mostly played the Tocadisco mix because it was much 'dirtier' (it was ok to use that adjective then). Same deal with the Sander Kleinenberg mix of Muscle Car. Tiga's less so. And even Erol couldn't save Drop the Pressure IMO. Destroy Rock and Roll was fun for a few hours. The rest of the album was a bit of a nothing really - very radio friendly, but so is Take That.

Anyway, my point is that it would be unfair to compare Mylo with the likes of Grum et al, because they're completely different artists producing music targeted at different tastes. In terms of ranking Mylo with the 'big boys', all I'll say is I'd prefer to see him than Tiesto.

Don't believe the Tory lies, Dave's just Maggie in disguise.

Nowhere. I don't really rate Mylo except for "Drop the Pressure," which is a good, but no really great, track IMO. But then he was never really that popular in the US (at least not by the time I got into this kind of music) so I never paid much attention to him.

Honestly I really like his music.
I listened to it so much I got slightly tired of it, but most of them are real classics.
In My Arms is more than just a rip of bette davis eyes, it is a good tune.
I am very interested in new material.

Well, not really "MTV popular," (is anyone we listen to really "MTV popular"?) but more "Justice popular." I know he was popular amongst DJs, but he never really reached Justice/Soulwax/etc. status where you had all the indie kids into him as well.

destroy rock & roll is class. it's one of the those albums that I always forget about, then it gets put on at an after-party and just makes sense. Sunworshipper is phenomenal, and the whole album just works together, to be played all the way through, like not many electronic albums do. It's the tits when you've got to drive all the way to Scotland for Rockness from Sheffield, and the sun's shining though...

My Dad listens to Destroy Rock & Roll, it was good at the time but became to accessible and turned commercial like alot of things do. I cant say i ever think about that album when im putting together tunes for my ipod or car journeys, instantly forgettable.

the fact that it became popular doesnt take away from the fact that it is still a brilliant album. it's an album that both teenyboppers and chinstrokers can enjoy
