The Muppet Christmas Carol.

Aristotle was not Belgian, the central message of Buddhism is not "every man for himself", and the London Underground is not a political movement.

im going to get bombardment for saying that
Nah....I agree. Well disappointed at the cinema.....watched it again recently and thought it only slightly better. Christopher Nolan's made much better, yet less hyped, films: Insomnia, The Prestige and Memento are all ace. His Batman films are just good. And The Following is pretentious guff.
if you'd seen it in imax you'd have a differnet opinion. never saw it in a real cinema but know folk who did and had also seen it in imax and they say the difference was unreal
Well....it wasn't that it was underwhelming. I saw it in the Odeon Leicester Square, it was loud and everything. It's very lack of subtlety was what disappointed me, though. There's no quiet moments to accentuate the action.....just constant bombastic Hans Zimmer and ADHD editing. Compared to the pacing of Nolan's other films, these things pissed me off. The more enjoyable second viewing was on a tiny screen on a BA flight, oddly enough ;)

i agree with dirtbox - the batman films are so far beneath memento and the prestige (i haven't seen insomnia so i can't comment on that one).

I watched the 300 on a BA screen, once.

Never bothered watching it again, screaming, stickfights and tiny dog-elephants don't do it for me.

Now this is how it started, my dreams all broken hearted yet i want you, baby.

Not seen 300, but I reckon it'd just give me a headache. Shame, cos the same director did that genuinely good remake of Dawn Of The Dead. Hope Watchmen is an improvement, not just another X-Men.

I well get off on tiny dog-elephants.....U IZ GAY ROMLMRLORLALOLOAFM

Big fan of the first 2 x-men films, third was just gash, I used to be obsessed with all things Marvel though so I'm biased, my dog is even called Marvel.

And on topic, Home Alone wins it for me.

Any views on sitcom christmas specials? Thought the Office Christmas specials were just amazing.

Yeah they were pretty good, thought The Extras one last year was pretty decent too. There doesnt tend to be as many quality Christmas specials these days, where's the 'Blackadder's Christmas Carol' or dare I say it 'The Only Fools and Horse's Batman & Robin Episode'?

Only Fools was alright, it had its place in time.

That Green Grass show is absolute SH*TE though.

What I meant about the Christmas Special, was that it was something the whole family sat down and watched together and everyone was talking about it the next day sort of telly...

ps

Anyone else really looking forward to the Dr Who Christmas Special?

Where Eagles Dare

Richard Burton plays smooth English cad.
Clint Eastwood just kills people and never loses.

Classic.
