ok as i mentioned this track on the youtube viddeo you posted has VERY stereo vocals which are a lot easier to do this with, as if the music identical your are phasing them out completly, but mono vocals its a different story, as what would happen in this scenario with the la roux song is that you would get no music and just the stereo delay and reberb.
