We threw a party for my 18th but not quite on the scale of yours. We spent maybe £200 on vodka and made a massive punch with lots of fruit juices and other cheap spirits seemed to work quite well. Got in some cheap kegs of beer too.

cheap booze in a bin with sunny d is probably your best bet.

as for speakers, if you've got the dollar then get funktion 1s. although, i assume that most of the people there won't be dance heads and won't be super hung up on audio quality, so just scout around for the best watt to price ratio. you need (i think i heard somewhere) around 3 watts per person
