Seen a few recently...
30 Minutes or Less 6/10 - Pretty standard comedy. A few laughs here and there, only really watched it because of Aziz Ansari though. I'd recommend it if you're not up for anything 'heavy'. Not a bad film, it killed 90 minutes without boring me, if nothing else. 50 / 50 7/10 - A lot more laughs than I thought there would be, got the impression it was more drama than comedy but Seth Rogen helps in that department, although he is pretty much the same character he is in all his films, funny, but it's getting a bit old now. All in all, very watchable. Moneyball 8/10 - Really good sports movie, Brad *swoons* is excellent, Jonah Hill is actually quite good in it as well. Even though I knew the eventual outcome, I enjoyed it all the way through. Don't need to be a fan of baseball to get into it as well, which is nice. Margin Call 7/10 - Would have been an 8 but I really had no idea what they were talking about most of the time. I was checking Wikipedia all the way through to get my head around 'historical volatility levels', 'mortgage backed securities', 'leverage' and 'market capitalisation' just to get the gist of the film and I was still puzzled half way through. Great cast and well acted though. Would be an excellent watch for someone working in/ studying finance, or just someone who understands the finance game better than me. |
