im not trying to stir trouble, but usually, well as soon as radio 1 get their mits on a brewing underground electronic genre, it goes mainstream, and then becomes wank.

check the mary anne hobbs example with dubstep, her dub wars show blew up up the thriving scene, for a few months or so it was fine, then rusko came with cockney thug and brostep, nwo we have korn and skillex.

obviously there are still good artists around doing interesting things but the momentum becomes lost, and its time to move on and ride the next tidal wave of underground electronic music, its bandwagon jumping at its most elitist, btu u gotta do it if u wana keep things fresh. well that is my advice anyhow.

thats why i predominately stopped listening to electro after 2005/06/07 becuase it stopped becoming innovative and interesting, and started to becoming a casette loop caught on repeat (once uve heard a banger set u no need to hear another one) so im speaking from experience.

I dont agree with him on every level, but I guess hes got a point there.

He just describes something which almost everyone of us forumers experiences in "unromantic" words. But in its in core its the same for me, as he describes it. If a genre - subgenre - becomes "mainstream", I get numb and bored to it after a while, because everything is starting to sound the same.

Of course, there are still a few standouts, but its exactly as he says, that momentum - the time, where you are that excited about this new thing, that every new release you hear brings something new and even more exciting to you - is lost.

He just describes it as something which you HAVE to do, like something you have to schedule. It sounds unnatural and uncomfortable, at least to me it does.

But to me, thats the most exciting aspect of electronic music, maybe the reason I listen to electronic music the most. There seems to be always something new, something you havent listened to and it seems like electronic music just evolves way faster than other genres.

That continuing search for new aspects and new tracks and that moment when you find something new, something exciting, I guess those are the best moments in music for yourself. At least, I can remember every song that changed my approach towards music, but by far not every track, that is similar to the one.

Sorry for the bad english:)
