Suprised this didn't take off more in '10.

My fave Fantastic Mr Fox track I reckon. Shame he's been quite really.

Broken for me. And yea, is a shame. Doesn't he have a collab with James Blake or Jamie XX waiting for release? Anyway, 123Mrk seems to have picked up where Fantastic Mr Fox left off. Love that sound

It's embarrassing how much 123Mrk rips on those guys though, they add nothing new to it. Its just another generic re-imagaining to my ears. Way off what Fantastic Mr Fox and James Blake can do.

Yea I do kinda agree with you. At the same time, I feel that not all new music needs to be so innovative or groundbreaking. I know this is a pretty blatant ripoff, but he's doing a good job at it, while adding his own flavor. Maybe, given time, he'll borrow ideas from other artists and improve his sound. This is def more entertaining than all those Burial sound alikes though, sheezus!

These new bits from Distal & HxdB are fiyah! Doesn't surpass Typewriter Tune though

Sounds like there's some Shake & Pop parts

Yeah not everything has to be innovative to be enjoyable. But I dunno why I'd ever need to reach for 123Mrk when so many others do it better. Even Ifan Daffyd is better and he blatantly rips on that style too.

i think 123Mrk is just a bit 'bigger' than them really. I think there's a bit more to his tracks than the sad chords and synths anyway

Gotta say you stick on some quality nights. If I was based in London I'd be all over it. Elgato is a killer DJ, Chairman Kato makes some well nice stuff, Bok Bok and Ill Blu kill it. You had Pev recently... I mean... jeeez.

Not sure about this Canblaster/Gesaffelstein thing yet. They have an electro vibe rolling thats so close too either just being another bloghouse/electroclash shitfest or something in itself... Still to early to tell at the mo for me.
