What aggravates it is the fact that the tracks are trash. And I ain't trying to be a hater here :/.

I can't believe he made the effort to make a shit video to go with it. That is absurd he did that without permission.
Boys Noise should dress up in a gimp suit and crudely rap all over Dirty Bit as retaliation. I can lend him one if he can't find his. |

Will.I.Am seems to think that he's such a massive star that anyone would be thrilled to work with him and he can just skip over the sample clearance. It's happened before. What legal room does Mr. Noize have to actually do anything? Was he selling it? This kind of "remixing" happens all the time in other genres and nobody seems to get so sour about it...

For example if you show a film for free on a big screen in a park, but make money by selling refreshments, you are still profiting from that copywrited material. If a PR company had produced that video they would still have to pay for the right to use it. |

Yeah, I'm not sure about entertainment/copyright laws outside of the US but mixtape culture would be dead if something like this was punishable by law.
I suppose you could say that by promoting it with a music video (and the fact that Will.i.am is a exponentially bigger name) he is not giving Boys Noize his full credit and is more or less presenting it as his own production? e: yeah, ^^he posted while I was typing this, the music video might have changed the situation |

not sure if not making profit does allow you to sample whatever you want but anyway, BN is well known for supporting bootlegs of his own work... :eyerolls:

everyone would get mad about it in any genre when someone takes their masterpiece and drops a fat crap on it and doesn't even wipe afterwards.

Fair use? Like I said before, it kind of reminds me of 2 Live Crew's sampling woes from awhile back that I think was ruled as fair use.
I don't think BN should pursue legal action or anything, it's just a shitty thing that Zuperblack/Will.i.am did to him. But like other people said, this kind of thing goes on all the time. |

It had the youtube video (which has since been removed from youtube) embedded. I don't think it's that unbelievable - Alex probably doesn't write the BNR blog, and the guy that does write it probably didn't know it wasn't an approved track. This was probably pointed out to him recently hence the removal of the blog post. |

It's only a little one, it shouldn't be hard to get rid of. Just ignore his original statement completely and wash the affected area regularly.
