Ok MOST djs do that when they have a new upcoming track or when they have just released something. You can't deny that, and you can even see it on Resident Advisor.
The same for beatport charts (I'm not waiting for you to link me to 8 different Beatport charts).

Edit : I had some time to waste :
Clement Meyer sometimes charts tracks of his :
http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/clemen...hart=80333 and http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/clemen...hart=76144
(I just looked a bit further than his latest chart: his previous chart and the chart before)
Silent Servant :
http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/silent...hart=83903 and http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/silent...hart=63518
Dario Zenker :
http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/darioz...hart=93493 and http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/darioz...hart=83684
Samuli Kemppi :
http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/samuli...hart=93738 and http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/samuli...hart=68459
Shifted :
http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/shifte...hart=93082
Jonas Kopp :
http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/jonask...hart=87342 and http://www.residentadvisor.net/dj/jonask...hart=58293

Oh god what wouldn't I do to win an argument on the internet.

A few charts from this month on -RESIDENT ADVISOR- won't make me forget the other hundreds I see where DJs chart one of their tracks really.
Just take a look at Beatport for example.
And you can also stop with the intended superiority complex, internet tough guy.

I have no problems with that notion that MOST producers do it. However saying everyone does it is just wrong. It's fine from time to time to create hype but not everyone charts tracks by himself. I've never seen i.e. Dettmann chart his own stuff.

Also Quentin: I'm not really sure what a picture of me has to do with any of this but okay. Beatport charts are something different in my mind as you can actually purchase the tracks you chart. More tracks of yourself charted = possibly more $$$

RA offers the possibility to purchase the tracks too...
And to me there's no hype created when artists chart their own tracks either, because it's obviously really biased.
As for the "everyone", to be honest trying to argue because "only" 90-95% of DJs who also produce chart their tracks when there's a new release is a bit silly...

What part of a chart isn't biased? A non-biased chart would kind of defeat the entire point of charting...

Haha yeah but I didn't know how to express what I mean...
But obviously you're going to say your tracks are good enough to be charted, if you see what I mean?

this thread is jokes, and not because of egotroopers.

that's such bullshit, of course they deserve a thread. these things aren't a limited resource.

and at least they contribute to the forum as well, there are enough big producers out there who use this forum for nothing but starting threads for their own charts.

the secret to stopping this entire fucking circlejerk is to take this post:
