Any going? I'll probably heading there on the Saturday only, Friday looks tempting as well but can't afford both unfortunately.

My mate and I will be heading down for both days. Really looking forward to it - So many good people to see.

Although concerned about bar prices (it being London).

Yeah, the annoying thing is that on Sunday, tubes only start around 7, so there'll be an hour's wait unless you get a bus. But they say they'll have subsidised buses to the official after party at Café 1001 in East London.

Going for both days.

randomg17; as far as I know the afterparty is only on Saturday morning, but on Sunday morning you could always get the shuttle bus to Liverpool St., then get a bus (or walk if you're not on your own) down to Cable for Jaded. Only about 20 minutes away.

Right you are, I think I read it as the after-party after the Saturday night as opposed to the after-party on Saturday (morning).

If you can't face the after party, just go and chill out in Thames Barrier Park at 6am with some iphone speakers and refreshments. Beautiful place, especially when sunny.

That sounds good, just next to the station as well. Although I hear it's going to rain all weekend, which is a bit annoying...

Was jealous, not any more. According to twitter, 3hrs to get in 1hr to get to a stage, sound problems, overbooked and has just been shut down by police. All in all one massive fuck up, some people didnt even make it through the gates.

Yeah, not jealous at all after hearing about the stories from yesterday. Just endless queues for everything, as Spunky. Apparently people waited for 45 mins to see Snoop and then somone just came and said he wasn't playing anymore and that no one else was either. Sounds like a complete nightmare. Such a shame because it had everything going for it, amazing lineup, what seemed like a really interesting venue.

Apparently, the venue only really had capacity for 8,000 people and they sold 15,000 tickets (at least that's what I've read). Plus there were problems last week with the first event at the Pleasure Gardens, so they could've foreseen these things.

I've always heard such good things about Bloc but never made it to the Butlins' editions, I do hope that they survive this disaster but that they also learn from their mistakes.

Now just need to find out when I'll get the damn refund...

Found out last night from the poor guy working the "enquires" window (which quickly turned into the complaints window) last night that security staff on the main gates couldn't handle the amount of people coming in. To start with, they were doing everything properly - searching, checking/scanning tickets etc. But, when they realised that they had over 1,000 people queuing between the box office and the main gates they were worried about things going wrong.

Door staff then let everyone in. No searching, no checking tickets (I still have my paper ticket and was given a wristband). So, of course, massive overcrowding began.

I talked to a security bloke later on, called Dave, who told me that the gate staff got in touch with management about the overcrowding issue on the gates and were left waiting for a long time with no response on what to do. Also mentioned:
- no clicker thingys to track numbers of people
- one sniffer dog for the entire festival
- no clear definition on what tickets were correct or wrong.

I do actually think, at the time I was going in anyway, it would have been possible to claim a blank piece of paper was my ticket.

There were two, and they were both cuties. Still walked straight past them both.

Nothing really else to be said.
