I'd really like to have an unequivocal understanding of what the fuck trap music is and how it differs from any other type of hip-hop.
If anyone cares to elaborate. |

Artists like T.I, Young Jeezy and most of the southern USA hip hop scene have a distinctive "harder" sounding beat... dunno that's just my opinion |

What I love is the way that people put Trap and 'EDM' (I fucking hate that term), into the same sentence as if they are two completely different things.
It's pretty damn electronic and its fucking danceable. I also kinda get the feeling that if you take away the pitched down vocals and the dry snare rolls, all you're left with is a pretty uninspiring Phil Collins beat, without the cinematic strings. Isn't saying "edm influenced trap music" a bit like saying "rock-influenced death metal"... I thought edm was just an umbrella term.

Think the EDM label has now become the term to refer to turning of already genres into mindless, seemingly new, festival material.
