MAJOR LAZER!!!
If they ever do another album it will be quite trappy, no doubt. And Diplo has played a huge part in this "trap movement" |

I just made this yesterday. I've been producing electro for a while now, but I thought I would try my hand at something new. Enjoy.

Thats some real Trap shit right there, keep at it. If you guys aren't familiar with the producer Munchi on Mad Decent Records, he does a new style of music on each EP (NEW EP SOON). Here's a preview of his new remix. He calls this style "Skulltrap". It goes FUCKING HARD! |

Some of it sounds alright, it's just the name and "backstory" that annoys me. To be fair, you'd find it hard to outwit gravel -SSD o Twit Twoo o Soundcloud ^ New side project of mine ^ |

So you're annoyed by producers like Flosstradamus and RL Grime for making their influences known, by calling it "Future Crunk" or "Post Trap"? At least their not saying "Hey, we made this style up ALL BY OURSELVES" And when you make your own style of music you get to call it whatever you want... New Baauer Remix |

Not at all I wasn't referring to any producer in particular, I understand that most producers wouldn't even categorize their music if they could BUT are forced to do so by the public, that's more what I was implying. IE it's almost as if the dubstep kids finally realised that all the screechy bleepy stuff was getting kinda old so they wen't "hey flosstradamus hey RL Grime, your sound is so fresh and clean, it's kinda similiar tempo to dubstep but with a hip hop bounce and really cool techy hooks, what do you call it?" "-Hmm that's exactly it, it's just a blend of cool stuff I guess" "-Well yeah but I've got a 'I love dubstep' t-shirt and now I wanna make a t-shirt to let my friend's know I love this new style, and how am I gonna fit all that on there hum??!" "Well you can't cause it's not necessarily a new style, I mean it's got elements from stuff as far back as the US Trap movement and lots of oth... "AH COOL THAT'S IT THEN!" Picks up the phone: "MOM CAN YOU GET ME A T-SHIRT MADE SAYING I LOVE TRAP!?" And then he gets home and updates his status with "I love TNGHT! He makes some awesome TRAP!"... Catch my drift!? :) I got into this kind of stuff through Salva & Eprom etc. (actually apart from that mercy remix, I can't believe no one has mentioned them yet on this thread!) At the time I was looking for some "housy" "warm up set" kinda track when Diplo charted "I'll be your friend" by Salva. Upon listening to Complex Housing I couldn't believe the mind-blowing stuff he was producing...I wasn't too sure what it was but I started following the whole frite nite stuff, and in general everything that was coming out of the West Coast. As recently as February had a chance to catch Salva and Shlohmo on their first time in London for a small gig @ the Camp (where RL Grime and Flosstradamus stuff was played) and it just felt like I was witnessing something that was just happening! You know... But fine, let's call it Trap! Anyway here's some incredibly good MUSIC: |

Even though the drugs will affect you or those around you negatively, you won't quit because the money you are making. The drug game will either become your life or get you killed.
