My old phones died on me. I'm looking for an all-around set of headphones and wondering if there's anything that'll meet my needs.
I'd like a pair that I can still DJ with (I don't as much as I used to), for daily listening on train/etc., and also some entry level production (only recently ie the last year or so got into ableton live). Is there something that can satisfy all this? Was thinking the sennheiser HD 25 but wasn't sure how they would be for basic production stuff as well as daily listening. |

Friend of mine has HD 25's and they're top notch for listening to music. Lot's of people use them for DJing too. Although I have heard that the band causes the top of your head to ache after prolonged use. Think there are foam pads you can buy to stop this.
Production wise. They're good quality, and so would be fine. However, as with all headphones, you won't be able to get a proper sense of panning in your mixes. To be fair, you'd find it hard to outwit gravel -SSD o Twit Twoo o Soundcloud ^ New side project of mine ^ |

I'm running on AIAIAI TMA-1's, brilliant for djing and listening on my desktop though the sound card with the built in amp but weakens a little when it's just by itself and an iPod.
Would totally recommend a pair though. |

HD-25s for DJing/Monitoring
ATH-ES7s for general everyday use. The looks aren't to everyone's taste, with the super shiny cans, but I love 'em. They sound lovely. http://www.whathifi.com/review/audio-technica-ath-es7 |
