Getting worried about Man U now, when Fergie leaves I can really see them declining as a footballing force. Their whole back 4's only a few more birthdays from a free bus pass, de gea is average, midfield is bland, really is bland (although kawaga or whatever he's called might spice it up dunno I've not seen him play), they have got firepower up front but that's it really. As a Newcastle fan, id still hate seeing man U fall out the circuit, I can see the title chase becoming a regular man shitty/Chelsea tussle

The defence is pretty young in the face of Evans, Jones, Smalling and Rafael, all of them great players but all of them currently unavailable due to injuries. The central midfielders aren't exactly top level but i believe in Cleverley and I'm happy to see him back in game. There are plenty of wingers in this team all of them quality. Kagawa will play as a winger too, his debut last night wasn't stellar, it seems it will take a bit more time for him to adapt. United have already won the league with the same bland midfield and much less force up front so i don't see what are your worries based on. It seems to me that you haven't watched many of their games, if any.

What i don't like in this team is De Gea. I've some serious reserves to that guy.

he made some spectacular saves last night, but when the box gets crowded for corners or free kicks he's far too easily out-muscled

I think De Gea is a very good goalie, but he maybe moved a year or two too soon; once you get a rep as being dodgy at something as a keeper, its incredibly hard to shake that off, teams target it, fans and defences maybe don't trust you like they should. He's still so young in goalkeeping terms.

But if Fergie sticks with him and they keep faith, and if they can get a settled back 4 in front of him, he should turn into a brilliant GK imho.

What i don't like in this team is De Gea. I've some serious reserves to that guy.

I mean i think they are going through a transitional period, they're about to lose ferdinand, giggs, scholes, van der sars gone, Evra and Vidic can only have limited time left, etc etc so obviosuly there will be growing pains, and maybe i was harsh before, Rafael is a good player, Smalling, Jones and Evans are good assets, obviosuly Smalling will be the eventual replacement for Ferdinand and Evans for Vidic i'd assume but do you really think that back fours as strong as you've come to associate Manchester United with? They certainly won't daunt centreforwards as the "old" pairings would.
Ashley Young is a headless chicken, if he was playing football in my back garden i would shut the curtains and immediatley look to re-locate, I hate him more than El Hadji Diouf. Tom Cleverley, yeah he's got a good engine, he can pick out a pass, he can't spray a long ball as good as Scholes, although he does remind me of the old scholes (attack minded not agewise). However i think the only worldclass "young" player theyve got is Nani, and to be fair, when Fergie eventually goes can you really see any manager replicating his dominance?

You're right I dont watch many Man U games, I mean I watch all the ones on Sky that I can - when they arent clashing with Newcastle, and most of the European games (always loved watching them in Europe since I was a kid, everysince the 5-0 against Brondby), but I wouldnt go out my way to watch them on the internet or anything, as I'm sure 99% of non-supporters of any team would also not bother doing.

i think belgium can claim the first week of the epl. fellaini completely dominated against utd, hazard assisted 5 of chelseas 6 goals (or all 5 of chelseas legitimate goals), lukaku looked great coming off the bench for west brom netting a goal and mignolet kept a clean sheet against arsenal, tho thats more to do with podolski and girouds terrible finishing. hopefully miralles and vertongen can get off to good starts for spurs and everton when they make their debuts. its surreal to see belgian players in such high demand in the best league in the world™. i used to get excited when mpenza would get the odd game in a mediocre man city side years ago, now they are champions and captained by a belgian, been a long time coming.

yeah, belgium's got the talent, a whole load of awesome players in the national team under 26, just need to get them to play together (i think you've answered my questions on the subject before)

i know it's only lolz n all but 1, he didn't make him his captain (he said he'd captain the side during friendlies and would make up his mind at the start of the season) and 2, dawson's still not gone

come on, who are you, the daily mirror?

Looks like Liverpool got Sahin after all, pleased with that. Still not optimistic about the rest of the season, we still haven't got anyone who can finish!

I think Danny Sturridge could do a job at you's!

Newcastle were horrific today, the only highlights for me were brief glimpses of ben arfa's mercurial talent, he is absolutley amazing. And of course Torres getting booked for diving, although he did have a terrific game. There were a few cockney fellas in the pub in town I was watching the game at when Hazard converted the penalty, a man who must have been in his 70's, threw the pepper grinder of one of them, words can't describe how funny it was

Yeah, you nailed it, the only problem is the national team, in one way or another the players don't play as good as in their clubs, really hope we can go to brazil!

Man Utd is fuckin awful at start of the campaign including yesterday's game. Geez, it was painful to watch it. RvP proved himself, although he is still not in great form.

Now you guys will know what it is like to have RvP pull you through a season. We haven't conceded yet which is an incredible positive for an Arsenal side. Super optimistic for when we manage to string a few wins together and Giroud finds some form.
