The movies you've seen recently thread

Seems like there are a lot of movie afinicados on this board, so just post what you've seen recently and recommend or what you don't think was worth watching.

Saw The Limits of Control a couple of days ago and really liked it, was the first movie I ever (knowingly) saw by Jim Jarmusch. Definetly recommend it, especially if you enjoy a beatifully shot film. The plot itself is pretty simple and almost disappears for large parts. Can't really say what was good about it apart from how the film was shot, the movie just put me in a certain mood.

Can anybody recommend by some other movies by Jim Jarmusch? And what did you people see lately?

Down By Law and Ghost Dog for sure

some people love Coffee and Cigarettes but I found it terribly boring (and I quite enjoy both coffee and cigarettes)

i really enjoyed coffee and cigarettes, found it to be such a calming film. Probably to do with Iggy Pop's voice....

I was really underwhelmed by coffee and cigarettes, might have to rewatch it.

Night on Earth and Mystery Train are great though.

You should check out SMOKE and also Blue in the Face

ha!

I watched a bit of Melinda & Melinda again the other night, prolly one of Woodrow Allen's better contemporary films - a nice ensemble cast and quite witty in places

saw visitor q at the weekend, easily the weirdest film i've ever seen, totally bonkers, good though

also saw office space for the first time this weekend and that was pretty good too, not amazing but it captures the office environment perfectly and has some great moments

Re: The movies you've seen recently thread

Looking For Eric: Really uplifting.  I didn't know what it was, has a really glum opening and said 'Directed by Ken Loach' and I just thought 'shiiiiiit, I'm not really in the mood for this'.  But it was really funny and moving, and I came out feeling happier.  Loads of location spotting for Manc people as well.

Terminator: Salvation.  Watchable but really hampered by being a 12A, and Christian Bale is quite bland.  Poos on Terminator 3 though.
